From Generation to Generation

From Generation to Generation

It is easy to think of leadership as something that is practiced outside of the home. Yet Scripture is clear that it is within a family that spiritual truths are to be lived out, taught, and passed on. Whether or not you are a parent, you are part of the family of God, and you are part of passing on faith in Jesus. Who are you influencing? How are you modeling servant leadership for those who look up to you?

He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.—Psalm 78:5-7

Prayer: Lord, as others interact with me today, I want to be a living, breathing example of faith. Help me to serve others well, so that when they think of being a servant leader, they can follow my example. I want the next generation to know You and serve You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
