With Thanksgiving

Giving thanks realigns our minds, calms anxious hearts, and makes us aware of God’s presence and power—regardless of how dire a situation seems. Powerful words about prayer and thanksgiving come in the context of Paul’s words about conflict among church leaders in Philippi. Paul focuses on the joy and truth of the Lord’s presence as he urges the believers to pray and give thanks. The results of Jesus-centered prayer and thanksgiving are peace-filled hearts and minds and the ability to focus on what is good. What fills your heart and mind today?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. – Philippians 4:6

Prayer: Lord, thank You for calling me to remember that You are near in every circumstance. Teach me to pray based on the truth of Your presence and goodness. Help me focus on what is good and trust You in every situation. In Jesus’ name, amen.
