God’s message to the Israelites as they left Egypt is the same as His message to us today. Neither our past nor our present circumstances are to shape how we act. We are to follow God alone. What does this look like in your life today?
The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘I am the Lord your God. You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the Lord your God. —Leviticus 18:1-4
Prayer: Jesus, like Your Father, You are clear that we are not to imitate the world’s practices, including the world’s leadership role models. Today, I will follow You. Help me to carefully follow God as a servant leader. In Your name I pray, amen.
