Hardship isn’t an excuse to revert to the world’s way of leading; it is an opportunity for God to be glorified. When the challenges seem overwhelming, God’s call doesn’t change, it intensifies. Where are the stakes so high that you are willing to risk everything on doing it God’s way?
Jesus took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”—Matthew 26:37-39
Prayer: Jesus, I want to follow Your example of trusting everything to God, especially when the pressure builds. I yield myself to accomplishing the Father’s plan in the power of the Spirit. In Your name I pray, Jesus, amen.
