All of us will have opportunities to admit that we’ve been wrong. A careless word, a thoughtless action, a missed opportunity, a self-serving act; they just happen. The disciple whom Jesus loved gives us an action plan to follow when we do not live, love, or lead like Jesus. Allow God to redeem your failures, like He did those of the first disciples.
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.—1 John 1:7-9 NLT
Prayer: God, give me the humility to admit my sin, confidence in Your forgiveness and cleansing, and courage to make amends to others. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
