How open are you to the change God wants to see in your life? All of us have a tendency to want to control or protect certain aspects of our lives. God, however, wants free access to every part of us—motivations, thoughts, relationships, behaviors, daily practices. As God, He has the right to step in and rearrange our plans, goals, priorities, and dreams at any time. We can trust Him to do the right thing. Where is He calling you to trustingly follow Him without conditions today?
As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.—Matthew 9:9
Prayer: Jesus, I want to respond to Your call as simply, trustingly, willingly, and obediently as Matthew and the other disciples. How do You want to change me today? Melt my resistance, bring new life through Your Spirit, I pray in Your name, amen.
