As He so often did, Jesus compassionately responded to the man with leprosy, restoring him, giving him back his life. But then the man chose to ignore Jesus’ warning for how, when, and where to tell others. Isn’t that odd? Did he not consider Jesus’ warning valid? Did he not understand it? Was he too wrapped up in the blessings he had just been given to hear Jesus’ speaking? His ignoring Jesus’ words had a direct impact on Jesus’ life and ministry. What interferes with your obedience?
Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.—Mark 1:45
Prayer: Jesus, the life I live is one that You have given me. Open my ears to hear Your words, Your warnings to me as I begin this day. I want to be an obedient follower. In Your name I pray, amen.
