As individuals created in His likeness, God gives us responsibility to shape the world around us. Jesus commissioned us to make disciples, and the Holy Spirit anoints us with power. There may be times when we are tempted to edge God out and use the influence He gives in our own strength or for our own purposes. How will your role in other people’s lives exalt God and point them to Jesus?
Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus….—John 1:40-42
Prayer: God, let me be like Andrew, using my influence to benefit others. Thank you for the privilege of being able to make an eternal difference in their lives through influencing their thinking, behavior, and development. May they see Jesus, in whose name I pray, amen.
