Jesus prayed for His disciples to be sanctified by the truth, to be set apart for God’s purposes by the truth of God. What truth sets us apart as leaders? Does the reality of the living God characterize our lives? Are we daily nourished and strengthened by His truth, hearing and responding to the Word of life? Does His Spirit lead us? Do others experience the reality of God’s grace, forgiveness, and encouragement through us? Do they come to know His wisdom and His ways by our words and actions? What sets us apart from the world?
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.—John 17:17-19
Prayer: Father, set us apart by Your truth, then send us into the world as Jesus’ disciples, living and leading by the truth of Your Word. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
