Jesus knew the power of prayer. It was prayer that kept Him connected with His Father. It was prayer that undergirded each decision. It was prayer that prepared Him to face the challenge of the cross. He prayed for Himself, for His disciples, for those who needed healing, and for those who cursed Him. His disciples asked Him to teach them to pray. Where do you need Jesus to teach you to pray?
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”—Luke 11:1
Prayer: Lord, teach us to pray. Teach us to pray for ourselves, that we might become leaders who lead with spiritual power. Teach us to pray for those whom we influence, and let our lives of prayer inspire them to pray. Teach us to pray for those who are hurting, and for the difficult people we have to deal with. Teach us to pray, we ask in Your name, Amen.
