Holiness, “other-ness,” this is the essence of God’s character. He is holy, separate from us, and set apart. Jesus calls us to be holy, to be perfect, to allow our relationship with Him to so permeate our lives that it overflows in love for God and others as we lead like Jesus. How different are you from the world you live in? How will you exhibit God’s nature to those around you today?
Just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”—1 Peter 1:15-16
Prayer: Jesus, I want to be holy, set apart, just as You were holy and lived a life set apart to God’s purposes, a life defined by love for God and others. Thank You for setting me apart through Your Spirit living within me. Live and love through me today, I ask in Your name, Amen.
