How well do you treat those in authority over you? How well do you treat those over whom you have authority? Daniel found himself in circumstances beyond his control, first, taken prisoner, and then singled out for special attention. His humility and confidence are reflected in his interactions with those over him. What does your treatment of others reveal about your leadership point-of-view?
But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.—Daniel 1:8
Prayer: I am impressed, Lord, by Daniel’s commitment to live for you in whatever circumstances he finds himself. Knowing that You orchestrate his life, he moves forward in faith, respectfully seeking ways to honor You. His life of faith became a witness to those over him. He reminds me of Jesus. May I reflect their faith today, I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
