The Lord had one practical piece of advice for Joshua as he began to lead God’s people: Get to know Scripture. Meditate on it. Live by it. This is good advice for every leader. If you want to lead like Jesus, let the Scripture that shaped Jesus’ life and leadership shape you. Make God’s Word the primary influence in your thinking and decision-making! How is your leadership being shaped by Scripture?
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.—Joshua 1:8
Prayer: Lord, I want to be successful in Your eyes. I want to do what You want me to do. I want to live and lead according to Your commands. Use Scripture to shape my leadership perspective and decision-making. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
