When we focus on exalting God instead of exalting ourselves, we are free to value others. No longer needing to prove our worth or promote our personal interests, we can appreciate the gifts and abilities of those around us. Do you trust that God has a plan for your life? Are you able to relax in His care and provision? How can you affirm and value those around you?
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.—Philippians 2:3-4
Prayer: God, thank You that I can trust You to accomplish Your purposes for me. Thank You for the ability to take my eyes off of myself and look around me, to truly be able to see and appreciate the gifts You have placed in others. Show me how I can encourage and support them as they follow You. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
