Focus or flex. This is the servant leader’s daily challenge. When interruptions come your way, how do you decide which to choose? Having a clear sense of God’s call on your life and establishing God-centered values will provide a basis for decision-making. Time spent in solitude, reflecting on Scripture and praying, keeps these values freshly impressed on your heart. Ultimately, the best choice each moment is to focus on following Jesus.

Prayer: God, like a wise and loving father, You provide the wisdom we need to chart our course throughout our lives and throughout each day. Thank You! Thank You for the Holy Spirit who guides me, thank You for Scripture that provides the wisdom I need. Thank You for the privilege of prayer to keep me in tune with You. Remind me to follow Jesus moment-by-moment today. In His name I pray, Amen.
