Do you sometimes hesitate to pray because you don’t want to bother God? Maybe you think a leader should have things all figured out. Perhaps you don’t want to sound desperate. Jesus modeled humble dependence on God in everything as the mark of a servant leader. Don’t try to lead without the Father’s wisdom and strength. Where do you need to turn from pride and fear, and call to the Father for help?
Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me.—Psalm 142:6
Prayer: Lord, thanks for the reminder that to lead as Your servant, I need to listen for Your instructions, especially when circumstances crash in on me. Thank you for Jesus’ example and the reminder in Scripture to call on You when I am in desperate need. Hear my voice today as I call to You in Jesus’ name, amen.
