As leaders, we know how important it is to have a picture of the future we are trying to create. By envisioning it beforehand, our efforts are focused toward achieving that goal. Jesus lays out His vision of the future in His prayer in John 17. He envisioned His church as disciples living in unity with the Father, and with one another. All of this was (and is) for one purpose, that the world will know Jesus as God’s anointed one and experience His unending love. Is this your vision, too?
I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.—John 17:22-23
