Jesus’ starting point for ministry typically seems to be the needs of people. Consider His compassion in feeding the 4000 and 5000, healing the blind and lame, and answering the questions of ordinary people. Has He not called you, His follower, to do likewise? Who will you minister to at their point of need today?
A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.—Mark 1:40-42
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for being willing to meet me in my need just as You met the leper in his need. Your willingness to heal, to forgive, to cleanse, and to restore reveals the Father’s heart. Give me a willing heart so that I, too, can serve people at their point of need. I ask in Your name, Amen.
