Are you serving people around you, or are you using them to meet your own needs? It’s a question that those of us who aspire to lead like Jesus must face each and every day. Is it your intention to serve God, or yourself? To love God and others, or to love yourself? What motivates you?
“The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. … I am among you as one who serves.”—Luke 22:25-27
Prayer: Jesus, today, I want to see others through Your eyes and reflect You in my interactions with them. Transform my heart, my mind, and my leadership methods. This day, may people know me as one who serves. In Your name I pray, Amen.
