In Mark 2, we find Jesus teaching crowds, people who come, observing, hoping to be amazed by Him, and they are not disappointed. The critics, teachers of the law, taking notes, wait to pounce on anything that doesn’t align with their thinking; they, too, are not disappointed. Then come some men desperately seeking Jesus, one paralyzed, others willing to do anything to get their friend to Jesus. These are the ones who are transformed; they, too, are not disappointed, but find all that Jesus has to offer. Who are you?
“Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” —Mark 2:9-11
