Fight or flight. This instinct is natural to every human being. It is the telltale sign of the existence of pride and fear in our lives. Humility and confidence stand out in startling contrast to both pride and fear and to the fight or flight instinct. What instinctively comes out in your response to people and situations around you?

Prayer: Jesus, I want to be like You. I want to be freed from lingering traces of pride or fear, to be transformed by You and Your unconditional love. I want to grow up to be like You, and to humbly, confidently, love others. Make me like You, so that I reveal You to others, especially as I meet challenging people and situations I encounter today.
