Peter’s life reminds us that while even the most devoted disciple can misunderstand God’s purpose and plan, Jesus fulfills His promise to transform us as we follow Him. At times, Peter’s enthusiasm, and even his love for Jesus, led him into situations where pride or fear took over. As Peter humbly submitted these same character traits to Jesus’ leadership, Peter was transformed and his influence multiplied. What new growth in godliness does God want to see in you?
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.—2 Peter 3:18
Prayer: Jesus, You call me to follow You and let You transform my life for Your purposes, just like You transformed Peter. I want to grow in the grace and knowledge of who You are so that I can lead like You. Transform me into a person of humility and confidence as I humbly respond to Your correction and Your call. I pray in Your name, amen.
