Jeremiah is one of those biblical figures that faced relentless opposition. He consistently gave out God’s message regardless of the counter-message of false prophets and hostile leaders. He often felt overwhelmed, and left to his own resources, he knew he could not have fulfilled God’s purpose. But Jeremiah’s confidence was in the Lord. Where is your confidence placed?
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.—Jeremiah 17:7
Prayer: Lord, You call us to lead not because the way will be easy, but because the world needs to see Jesus. They need to hear Your words, to see Your heart, and see a living model of servanthood in action. Use us today, Lord, as we place our confidence in You. And when the way gets hard, remind us of Jeremiah’s example, or better yet, Jesus’ example. It is in His name we pray, Amen.
