How do you lead like Jesus in the midst of the world’s constant pressure to edge God out and exalt yourself instead? Jesus continually lived for God’s approval, regardless of what others said. Like Peter, we can learn how to face opposition by watching Jesus’ example and listening to Him. Then we can follow Peter’s advice to early Christians who were being pressured and persecuted for their faith:
Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.—1 Peter 2:12
Prayer: Jesus, Your example and Your words “not so with you” ring through the centuries, as do Peter’s words. When I am experiencing pressure to conform to the world’s beliefs and practices, strengthen me to live and lead for God’s approval, exalting Him only. In Your name I pray, Amen.
