We are familiar with Jesus’ exclusive claim to be the only way to God (John 14:6) and the consistent testimony of the early church that “salvation is found in no one else” (Acts 4:12). Have we stopped to consider that Jesus’ call to servant leadership is just as exclusive as His call to salvation? Jesus came announcing the kingdom of heaven where there is one Lord, one vision, one mission, one set of values, and One who sends us to lead in His name.
Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.—Matthew 20:25-27
Prayer: Jesus, today may my life reflect Your salvation and may my leadership reflect Your call to servant leadership. I pray in Your name and for Your kingdom’s sake, amen.
