Thankfulness is key to our leadership. It grounds us in humility as we realize that Jesus has done for us what we could not do for ourselves. Kneeling before His cross with open hands, we look up in gratitude and wonder. Following His gaze, we look around us at those He came to save, and we rise to serve in His name. Thankfulness pours itself out in service to others. Only a thankful, humble heart can receive the gift of salvation and rise to follow in Jesus in sacrificial service.
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.—Colossians 2:6-7
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the cross. Thank You for opportunities to pour ourselves out on your behalf as we serve others. Let our thankfulness overflow in lives of loving service throughout this day. We pray in Your name, amen.
