God’s work of preparation begins with the end in mind. Before Jeremiah was born, the Lord was intimately and purposefully at work to prepare Jeremiah for his role in God’s kingdom. Jesus’ transformational work prepares us to respond to His call to be servant leaders and to make disciples in the setting where He has placed us. How has God prepared you to be His person in your setting today?
The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” —Jeremiah 1:4-5
Prayer: Lord, I am humbled that You have given me a role to play in seeing Your kingdom come to reality. Thank You for the confidence that comes from realizing that You have been at work throughout my life to prepare me to be Your servant. May I lead like Jesus today, in His name and for Your glory, amen.
