Worship shapes us. What we worship, what we delight in, shapes our desires. Our desires shape our perspective on life and leadership, and ultimately our behavior. This is why Scripture, and Lead Like Jesus, emphasize the heart, the seat of our desires. What do you desire? Do your desires indicate that you are delighting in the Lord and worshiping Him alone? As we prepare for the holidays, take delight in Jesus, God with us, and lead others to do the same.
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. —Psalm 37:4
Prayer: Lord, we delight in You, and especially in Your gift of Jesus, Immanuel, the greatest gift we will ever receive. Many things distract us from delighting in You alone. Prepare our hearts to worship You this holiday season. Help us to lead our families and friends to do the same. We ask in the name of our greatest gift, our hope, our leader, Jesus, amen.
