Our response to pressure reveals much about who we are and where we place our trust. Consider Jesus who, under pressure far beyond what many of us will ever experience, forgave those who placed Him on the cross. What pressure are you experiencing? How is your trust in God shaping your response? Are you the one who forgives, or are you the one who needs to be forgiven?
When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”—Luke 23:33-34
Prayer: Jesus, Your death brings my forgiveness; Your resurrection brings me new life. As I face pressure, let me trust the Father, forgive others, and live in the power of Your Spirit. May my response to pressure reflect the difference You are making in my life. I pray in Your name, amen.
The bottom line is I along with everyone else truthfully needs to be forgiven. I am nothing without God and HIs Son’s sacrifice/work on the cross. In my own life however I try and forgive just as Jesus would, and I try to be the best person I can be. I like this devotional about pressure because I feel a lot of the time pressure is overlooked on Christians. What most people do not realize is the closer you get to God the harder life gets, and everything seems to amount and weigh on us. Staying strong and giving everything to God is the best way to solve all problems. This means not trying to solve things our own way, yet trusting God has already won the war.
