There will be times when we face the temptation to force change through a display of power. Things aren’t going as quickly as we would like, people aren’t listening to us, and we are tempted to take matters into our own hands. Power plays are shortcuts, shortcuts that ignore God’s leadership principles. Where are you tempted to try to lead in your own power? What is the risk in following God’s way instead?
 These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.—Isaiah 66:2
 Prayer: Father, I confess that sometimes I am tempted to take shortcuts, to create change in my own power, through my own words, abilities, or actions. Remind me that I am always wise to seek Your plan and Your way. Transform my thinking, attitudes and actions to reflect Your leadership principles. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
