As leaders, we not only make plans that impact our future, but also that of the people in our families, teams, and organizations. Our influence radiates outward in ways that we cannot predict, either in the present moment or into the future. What responsibility and privilege! People trust us to act in their best interests. What does the thought of the impact of your influence stir in you, pride or fear, or humility or confidence?
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.—Proverbs 3:7
Prayer: Lord, I want to take this wisdom from Your Word to heart. I am not wise enough to carry the responsibility and privilege You have given me without You leading the way. Keep me from foolish choices today, and help me to be worthy of the trust that others place in my leadership. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
