Everywhere Jesus went, He saw through the Father’s eyes. He saw people with pressing needs, religious leaders who needed to refocus on God’s priorities, and disciples who needed to be trained. More importantly, Jesus saw what the Father was doing in sending Him into the world. This prompted Him to speak words of truth, hope, guidance, and correction, to act with compassion and courage, and to press forward with His God-given mission. What do you see the Father doing? Who and what does He want you to see today? How does He want you to respond to what you see?
Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.”—John 5:19
Prayer: Jesus, let us see through Your eyes today. Let us respond with words and actions that come straight from the Father’s heart. We ask in Your name, amen.
