“Teach me, Lord,” is the request of a humble person, one who realizes God’s excellence and wisdom, and who acknowledges the need for wisdom that exceeds their own. As leaders facing life’s demands at home and in our work, we are aware that we need God to teach us how to live. Like Jesus, we spend time with God in prayer, seeking the Father’s perspective. Instead of coming to God with our own preconceived solutions, we ask Him to teach us, and we listen to His Spirit’s reply, ready to live according to His guidance. Is this your prayer today?
Teach me how to live, O Lord. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me.—Psalm 27:11 NLT
Prayer: Lord, open my heart and mind to hear Your voice. Teach me to pray, to meditate on Your Word, to recognize You at work in the circumstances around me. I need Your wisdom, Your guidance. Teach me how to live, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
