As servant leaders who follow in Jesus’ footsteps, it is incumbent upon us to keep pace with Jesus, our leader. Our humility is seen in following where He leads, while our confidence comes from knowing that He goes before us. Our lives and well-being are in His hand. Where is He taking you today? Are you listening for His voice? Do you need to hurry up or slow down in order to move at His pace?
I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.—John 10:14-15
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for being my shepherd, for leading me as I move into and through this day. As I follow You, keep my ear tuned to Your voice. Slow me down or stir me to action so that I am working in sync with You. I trust You to guide me wisely and well. In Your name I pray, amen.
