What opportunity will you have to show mercy today? Jesus said that showing mercy to others is a mark of a person who has encountered God. Showing mercy to others necessitates compassion and forgiveness, the very things God has shown to us. Humility allows us to receive God’s mercy and empowers us to show mercy to others. How will you pass on what you have received from Him?
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.—Matthew 5:7
Prayer: Father, where would I be without Your mercy? I need Your compassion, forgiveness, grace, and restoration. Thank You for reconciling me to You through Jesus. Today, I will have the opportunity to be merciful to those around me. Help me to extend the same mercy to them that I have received from You, forgiving so that I will not be guilty of unforgiveness, and offering the grace and mercy I have found in Jesus.
