Is prayer your natural response in crisis? When Daniel and his friends’ lives were at stake, along with those of others, they called out to God. They needed wisdom, they needed mercy, and they needed God to move on their behalf. They prayed not just for themselves alone, but for all who would be affected. What do you pray about? How do you need God to intervene? Who do you ask to pray with you?
Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.—Daniel 2:17-18
Prayer: Lord, like Daniel, I know that You hear and answer prayer. Pour out Your wisdom and mercy. Move on our behalf, we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
