What kind of faith does it take to serve God when the cost is high? Daniel faced shrewd, jealous, powerful colleagues who were determined to get rid of him. Yet Daniel continued to serve God. He steadfastly exalted God only, not giving into fear or striking out in pride by using his power and position. Where are you trusting God to show Himself strong on your behalf?
Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.—Daniel 6:10
Prayer: Lord God, the God of Daniel and countless others through the ages, I pray to You, thanking You for Your faithfulness to me throughout my life. I look to You to carry me through today to Your glory. I place my trust in You through Your Son Jesus Christ, in whose name I pray. Amen.
