Which comes first, the heart or the head? Paul tells us that, spiritually-speaking, the condition of the heart influences the working of the mind. A humble heart, transformed by God and yielded to Him, transforms our thinking so that we can consciously join God in what He is doing in the world around us. What condition is your heart in? How is God transforming your thinking?
So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.—Ephesians 4:17-18
Prayer:Â Lord, search out the hard places in my heart. Soften them with Your Spirit and Your grace. Let me hear Your voice. I yield myself to You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
