Others around us may rush through life at the mercy of daily pressures, but as servant leaders, we are not called to live life according to the world’s pressures. Taking intentional time to focus on God’s presence and purpose, and His priorities and plans for this day gives us His eternal perspective. As a result, we can move into this day led by His Spirit rather than being pushed and pulled by circumstances around us.
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”—Matthew 4:8-10
Prayer: Lord God, I set aside this time to spend with You, for time in Your presence, meditating on Your Word, and communicating with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
