People with needs surrounded Jesus. They came to be healed, to hear Him teach, to be fed, to be amazed. Jesus wasn’t oblivious to their presence or His opportunities to impact them; He often met their needs, but He wasn’t enslaved to them. How can we discern which needs to meet and how to meet them? Like Jesus, we align ourselves with the Father’s vision and goals so that we live for Him alone, and not for the crowds.
Jesus went out to the lake with his disciples, and a large crowd followed him. They came from all over Galilee, Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, from east of the Jordan River, and even from as far north as Tyre and Sidon. The news about his miracles had spread far and wide, and vast numbers of people came to see him.—Mark 3:7-8 NLT
Prayer: Father, whatever opportunities come my way, let me keep my eyes on You. Use me to serve others and to bring You honor. I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
