Nathanael’s life changed the day his friend Philip came to tell him about Jesus. Nathanael’s response to both Philip and Jesus was initially one of skepticism. When Nathanael went to check out Philip’s message, Jesus gave Him answers that satisfied Nathanael’s skeptical nature. What questions are you bringing to Jesus so that He can turn your skepticism into faith?
Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.”—John 1:49
Prayer: Jesus, there are situations where I question whether Your call to servant leadership will really work. I can’t believe that serving others will make any difference. I want a Plan B. But like Philip and Nathanael, I believe that You know what You are talking about, and so I trust that following You as a servant leader is the right thing to do. Show me how to live and lead in Your name, Jesus, Amen.
