It can be easy to look around at others instead of looking at ourselves as leaders. Yet, truthfully, we are only able to make decisions to direct our own behavior. When was the last time you took time to examine the condition of your heart and head? How are you doing at putting into practice what you know about servant leadership? How is your practice of Jesus’ habits increasing your spiritual leadership vitality?

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”—Luke 6:41

Prayer: Lord, I confess that when I don’t take time to examine my own life, I begin examining the lives of others instead. Today, search my heart, open my eyes to what you see, and give me insight into what I personally need to be changing in order to lead like Jesus. I ask in His name, Amen.
