Who do you turn to when crisis erupts and circumstances overwhelm you? Habakkuk repeatedly brought his questions and stress to the Lord, even questioning God’s methods of handling the challenges surrounding him. His resultant prayer of faith proclaims his trust in the Lord despite what circumstances may imply. He humbly brought his fear to the Lord and found confidence, joy, and strength. How are you following his example?

“I trembled inside when I heard this; my lips quivered with fear. My legs gave way beneath me, and I shook in terror. I will wait quietly for the coming day when disaster will strike the people who invade us.”—Habakkuk 3:16

Prayer: God, like Habakkuk, I see some impossible circumstances around me. And like him, I pray; and so I am able to echo his words: “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD.” You are my rock, my strength, and my salvation. In you I have placed my trust; and so I humbly and confidently await Your intervention. In Jesus’ name, amen.
