Where does your heart find its home? Psalm 84 speaks of a longing to be in God’s presence as the heart’s true dwelling place. Title and position doesn’t matter, just the presence and sufficiency of God Himself. Does this seem far removed from the challenges of leadership? Jesus was clear that the focus of our lives and longings matters, grounding us in this world or the next. Where do you find your home?
How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. —Psalm 84:1-2
Prayer: Living God, what a privilege that I can cry out for You today, that You invite me to find my home in You. I can walk and live in Your presence. I can find my security and self-worth in You, live in light of Your forgiveness and grace, and humbly serve as Jesus served me. In His name I pray, amen.
