“How is your soul?” How would you answer that question today? Are you stressed, carrying the weight of your responsibilities, wondering which way to go? The state of a leader’s soul matters. Just as Jesus took time to tend to the state of His soul, He urges us to make our relationship with God our number one priority. The state of our soul is crucial to how we interact with others. How is your soul today?

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”—Matthew 22:36-40

Prayer: God, help me today to keep first things first, so that all else will flow from a soul at rest in you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
