The needs of other people are not obstacles to overcome; in actuality, they are the very opportunities we have to lead. Remember, even God found that He needed to enter into the lives of those He wanted to influence. Jesus became a human being, entered into relationship with the people around Him, and invested Himself into the lives of His disciples. When the disciples didn’t understand what He was saying or doing, He found creative ways to help them. How can you invest in the lives of those you want to influence, especially when they seem slow to understand?
Then he climbed into the boat, and the wind stopped. They were totally amazed, for they  still didn’t understand the significance of the miracle of the loaves. Their hearts were too hard to take it in.—Mark 6:51-52
Prayer: Jesus, forgive me for becoming impatient with people. Show me how to “climb into the boat” with them and help them grow in competence and commitment. I ask in Your name, amen.
