All of us experience being wronged as we move through life. Scripture is clear that when we decide to take matters into our own hands and focus on getting even with others, we are the ones doing wrong. God asks us to resist the temptation to get even with those who have wronged us. How? By waiting on Him to do what is in our best interest and in the best interest of others. Where is God asking you to humbly and confidently wait on Him?

Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the Lord to handle the matter. -Proverbs 20:22

Prayer: Jesus, when I am wronged, let me see You on the cross. Transform my heart and my mind as I meditate on Your humility and willingness to trust the Father’s greater purpose when others did wrong to You. Thank You for choosing grace and forgiveness instead of vengeance, and so bringing life out of death. In Your name I pray, amen.
