Whose priorities tend to rule your day? Are you so tied to a “to do” list that you bluster past other people, intent only on accomplishing your own goals? Or do other people’s priorities tend to rule your life, so that God’s will fades into the background of your thinking? A powerful antidote to both approaches is to spend time with the Lord, inviting Him to reshape our thoughts and refresh our hearts as we begin our day. As we spend time in His presence, His priorities begin to shape our perspective, regardless of what our day brings. Whose priorities will shape your day today?

This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’“—Matthew 6:9-10

Prayer: Our Father in heaven, use Your Word, prayer, and Your Spirit to align me with Your will, Your way, and Your priorities today. I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
