Jesus was no stranger to pressing demands. Even as He faced the many needs of hurting people and religious opponents, He was deeply aware of His life mission to proclaim God’s kingdom. The cross was always before Him; the pressure of the devil’s opposition was an ever-present reality. He knew His life mission, vision, and values, and He lived by them, even when the pressure mounted. Do you?

Prayer: God, You know the pressures I will experience today, both the urgent and important. You also know that I want to live out of Your purposes and calling, to be the person You have created and are shaping me to be. Sharpen my focus on my mission, vision, and values so that I respond to both the urgent and important as You would have me respond. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
