What gets in the way of your hearing God’s voice? What gets in the way of your living, loving, and leading like Jesus? Could it be that we ourselves are the barrier that keeps us from hearing from God or having the impact we’d like to have in the world? Jesus lived a life of love for God and love for others. His secret was humble surrender to the Father’s will and the Father’s way.
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!—Philippians 2:6-8
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for showing us through Your life what it looks like to surrender to God. Help me to humbly follow in Your footsteps today. In Your name I pray, amen.
